Abstract  After ten years of great development, the development of western region in China has the characteristics of group development. As a result, three western strategic heights are achieved, including the establishment of the Northern-gulf economic zone of Guangxi Autonomous Region, the Guanzhong-Tianshui economic zone and the Chengdu-Yu economic zone. Urban agglomeration of Guangzhong is the core and the threshold of Guanzhong-Tianshui economic zone. Compared with the three coastal urban agglomerations, urban agglomeration of Wuhan and Chang-Zhu-Tan in central china, urban agglomeration of Guangzhong is based on an inferior economic basis. So it is hard to have the driving force to promote the western region or Shaanxi's economic development. Therefore,in a new round of the western region development process, it is significant to further develop the urban agglomeration of Guangzhong. The authors point out that the fast and effective economic connection would improve the competition level of urban agglomeration. So the measurement of the economic connection of inner urban agglomeration is significant in the study of region economy. Measurement analysis of economic connection is helpful to carry out in-depth research of economic activities between cities so as to offer the theoretical support for city development. The western scholars applied Newton's gravity model to the research of city connection. Some scholars in China have also been in systematic study of city connection in some economic zone. This paper analyzes the concern intensity of the main cities in urban agglomeration of Guangzhong based on the standard gravity model and previous researches. Moreover, it measures touch modulus and amount of contact between cities. Then this paper tries to analyze the existing problems of the current city development in urban agglomeration of Guangzhong. And find out the problems, causes and measures based on the existing economic links of Guanzhong-Tianshui economic area and the scientific measurement.
